Strontium is used by calcifying organisms in your system and is an important element
for the natural development of their Calcium carbonate skeletons.
Dosing Strontium is recommended and should be performed after each water change,
if a weekly water change regimen is employed.
Lab Aquatics recommends a pH of 8.4, an Alkalinity of 9 dKH, Calcium level of
400 ppm and a constant temperature of 78ºF for most reef systems. Maintained using
either a Calcium reactor or Kalkwasser dosing and carbonate buffer. This note is
added here as studies show a direct correlation between Strontium uptake, in relation
to Calcium, and temperature. |
