Aluminum levels in your aquarium:

Elevated Aluminum levels are detrimental to some marine organisms, especially soft
corals.
Increased Aluminum levels can be caused by corroding components around the aquarium,
food and chemical additives. The most likely culprit is a phosphate-binding agent
used improperly or in excess.
To reduce the Aluminum levels in your aquarium; perform a 30% water change using
a quality sea salt and closely follow the phosphate binding agent instructions.
You may also wish to do some research as to which products have a low aluminum leachate. |
